Religious education starts at birth and continues until we meet the Lord. There are many steps along our faith journey during a lifetime. The Catholic Church offers many opportunities to help you complete those steps.
The journey begins with Baptism. Each family wanting to have their child baptized at St. Paul must attend a Pre Jordan class which is typically held the first Thursday of every month. For more information regarding Baptism at St. Paul, please see the Baptism section of this website OR contact Deanna Harlan at 618-654-2339 X 217, [email protected]
The journey continues with grades 1 through 8 meeting for formal religious education on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm until 7:45 pm. Second graders prepare for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist and 8th graders prepare for Confirmation. All students second grade through 8th grade will celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation during Lent during class time. Advent time the students are encouraged to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation with their families at the Advent Penance Service.
Grade 8 will be studying church history and preparing for Confirmation. As future young adults of the church they are encouraged to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation with families at parish penance services.
